Hasani: Northern Kosovo cannot function with Albanian mayors

Former President of the Constitutional Court, Enver Hasani, says that it is certain that municipalities in the north cannot function with Albanian mayors and adds that the continued delay in forming the CSM is increasingly creating a "Republika Srpska" in Kosovo, Gazeta Express reports.

He emphasized that the majority population had returned to the parallel system, while the newly elected mayors dared not enter the municipalities.

"And what is happening now? The majority of the population has returned to the parallel system. Mayors, now that they are elected, dare not go there. This shows the weakness of Kosovo," Hasani said.

Hasani added that any further delay in forming the CSM could have enormous consequences.

"The more the issue of the Community is delayed, the more the 'Republika Srpska' grows in Kosovo, and the closer you come to its formation," Hasani said.
