Professor Luka Jovanovic from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of North Mitrovica says that Prime Minister Albin Kurti sabotaged yesterday's dialogue and, by imposing three new conditions, demonstrated that he does not want normalization of relations but rather a further deepening of tensions, especially in northern Kosovo.

"Albin Kurti himself benefits from this situation at this moment, and the least desirable outcome for him is any kind of agreement on any basis, as that would mean the end of the occupation of northern Kosovo and Metohija and the end of his imposed regime in the north," Jovanovic told Kosovo Online.

He added that the outcome of yesterday's talks could have been anticipated with the ban on the entry of the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, into Kosovo, the statements from Pristina's politicians who had asked Kurti to cease talks on the normalization of relations, as well as the behavior of the European administration.

Commenting on the three new conditions that Kurti presented in Brussels yesterday, Jovanovic said that the Kosovo Prime Minister was acting like a representative of some "great power" to justify the sabotage of negotiations.

"This time, too, he tried to justify his sabotaging of negotiations by imposing conditions that encroach on the internal political issues of Serbia and decisions made in Belgrade. Albin Kurti has once again given himself the right to act as 'more Catholic than the Pope' and proclaim himself a peacemaker. His statement that Kosovo is a normal state and that Serbia is not, which is why he won't negotiate with it until it meets the conditions, is particularly contentious. This formulation is ridiculous in itself, and I believe that Albin Kurti is aware of his ridiculous and reckless statement," Jovanovic concluded.
