Kosovo lobbyist Haxhi Dauti: We do not want to lose the friendship between the US and the Albanians
We don't want to lose the friendship between the US and the Albanians, because governments come and go, Haxhi Dauti, chairman of the Albanian-American Council, who has been lobbying for Kosovo in the US since 1991, told TV Klan Kosova.
Last week, at a working lunch in Washington, Dauti spoke with the US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, and the former OSCE Ambassador to Kosovo, William Walker.
As he said, Walker had asked Escobar how it was possible for a Slovak (Miroslav Lajcak) and a Spaniard (Josep Borrell) to deal with the issue of Kosovo, for peace with Serbia.
"Escobar answered him that Lajcak did not represent Bratislava, nor Borrell Spain," Dauti said.
He reported that Escobar had expressed his concern that there had been no coordination of the Kosovo executive authorities in relation to the events in the north.
"He said that they were not satisfied because they did not know what was happening," this lobbyist says and adds that Escobar also had a complaint about the attempt to shut down the media in Kosovo.
Dauti stated that the organization he led was also interested in the development of events in North Macedonia, Montenegro, and the "Presevo Valley".
