Kosovo Police confiscated "KM" license plates from a Serb and charged a fine of 150 euros

The Kosovo Police stopped Predrag Milanovic from North Mitrovica at the Bistrica Bridge today and confiscated his car license plates with the "KM" marking, and thus, as pointed out by Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Petar Petkovic and Serb List Vice President Igor Simic, Pristina violated the agreement on license plates.

Milanovic, who works as a miner in the Crnci mine, was heading home this morning after the third shift when he was stopped at the checkpoint of the Kosovo Police Special Units at the Bistrica Bridge. He was also fined 150 euros.

Vice President of the Serb List, Igor Simic, indicated during a press conference in North Mitrovica today that Pristina had once again violated the agreement on license plates, despite international community representatives confirming that Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija have the right to use license plates with the "KM" marking.

Simic pointed out that during the confiscation of the plates, the resident of North Mitrovica had been harassed and warned not to use them in Kosovo.

"The agreement on license plates is being violated once again, even though both Derek Chollet and Peter Stano have stated that it was agreed between Belgrade and Pristina that Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija have the right to use license plates with the 'KM' marking issued by the authorities of the Republic of Serbia. Unfortunately, Pristina does not respect that," Simic emphasized.

This incident was also emphasized by the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, who stated that "today marks the beginning of a new phase of Kurti's unlawful decision on re-registration, which he has no right to."
