Kosovo Police: Fines for drivers who have not re-registered their vehicles with RKS license plates as of November 22

The Kosovo police announced that from November 22 to January 21, all owners of vehicles with Serbian license plates of towns in Kosovo who did not re-register them would be fined.

The Kosovo Police stated on Facebook that, in accordance with operational plans, it continues to implement the Government's decision on license plates.

It is about the decision on the re-registration of vehicles with "PR", "KM", "PZ", "GL", "UR", "PE", "DA" or "ĐA" to RKS registration marks, which is carried out through several phases.

"As stipulated by the official decision of November 1, 2022, owners of vehicles with illegal license plates in Kosovo were issued a warning by the Kosovo Police, with instructions to contact the Vehicle Registration Center to re-register their vehicles. To date, approximately 1,740 warnings have been issued ", Kosovo Police announced.

As it is added, after the end of the first phase, from November 22 to January 21, 2023, for all owners of vehicles that have not been re-registered with the RKS license plates, the Kosovo Police will start issuing 150 euro fines.

"The Kosovo Police continuously monitored and assessed the events in the country, giving professional assessments in lieu with which they took the necessary, reasonable and legal measures for the implementation of the laws and decisions of the state authorities of Kosovo," the Kosovo Police emphasized.
