Krasniqi criticizes US reaction to CEC decision: Words without action encourage primitives in power
Analyst Milazim Krasniqi commented on the stance of the US Embassy in Pristina regarding the CEC’s decision not to publish the results for the Serb List, stating that the US approach is based only on words, which, he says, further encourages the government of the Self-Determination Movement.
He noted that the current authorities do not take any US criticism into account.
“US Embassy: CEC decision on the Serb List undermines US–Kosovo partnership (February 2, 2026). Comment: So far, we have only heard words from the US Embassy. No action. An approach of words without deeds has only encouraged the primitives in power. At this stage, they have convinced themselves that they are stronger than the US. The election result is also connected to that narrative,” Krasniqi wrote on his Facebook profile.
In response to Kosovo Online, the spokesperson for the US Embassy in Pristina stated that the CEC’s decision not to approve the publication of election results for the Serb List contradicts the right of Kosovo citizens to democratically elect their representatives.
“Any attempt to undermine this fundamental principle undermines the partnership between the United States and Kosovo,” the written response emphasizes.
As a reminder, the Central Election Commission published the final election results on Saturday, but not for the Serb List, prompting the party to file an appeal with the Election Panel for Complaints and Appeals.
In a Kosovo Online analysis, our sources noted that this CEC decision reflects the Self-Determination Movement’s desire to label the Serb List and raises doubts that the commission has become a political body that only accepts results it favors.
