Professor Milazim Krasniqi pointed out that from 1989 until now Kosovo had never been in a worse position in the international arena, Dukagjini reports.

"Kosovo's international position has not been so bad since 1989; we don't have a state, but we believe in our project and in the people who represented us because they were people who fulfilled their promises," Krasniqi said.

According to him, the statements of the representative of the Kosovo Government about the elections in the north and EU sanctions are reckless.

He states that Kurti's government is confusing and contradictory and that Kosovo is not able to blackmail the EU.

"The positions of the Government are confusing and contradictory, as was the case with the license plates, with the arrests and then the releases, and as happened with the elections that only produced the blockade we have now. The statement that the sanctions should be lifted first, and then the elections should be held, is confusing and contradictory; the EU cannot be blackmailed with such demands," Krasniqi added.

The only solution to the issue of northern Kosovo, according to Krasniqi, is the implementation of all de-escalation agreements, in order to create a climate of trust among the local Serbs and among international representatives.

He emphasized that, if there was de-escalation, the sanctions introduced by the EU would be lifted.
