Kurti and Gervala bid farewell to the first passengers traveling to Vienna without a visa

Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti and Minister of Foreign Affairs Donika Gervalla bid farewell to the first passengers departing from Pristina Airport 'Adem Jashari', who, as part of the Kosovo Government's information campaign on visa liberalization, won a three-day trip to Vienna.

On this occasion, Kurti stated that visa liberalization represents the strengthening of Kosovo's identity.

"Visa liberalization represents the strengthening of our identity and the dignity of our state. To mark this event, 50 citizens have been given the opportunity to travel as part of our information campaign. We must enjoy this right with responsibility, respecting requirements and criteria wherever we travel. We must not forget that our home is our Kosovo. Safe travels to everyone. Happy New Year and visa liberalization," said Kurti.

Gervalla expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to achieving visa liberalization, emphasizing that it is ultimately the merit of the citizens.

"Today is a beautiful day; we all know how much time we wasted in front of embassies, how much money was spent on visas and procedures, how undignified it was to wait in the rain, snow, or sun. That has come to an end; you will have the opportunity to travel to Schengen countries, to visit your loved ones. Thanks to everyone who contributed to visa liberalization, but let's not forget, the citizens of Kosovo are the ones who contributed the most. Safe travels to everyone," Gervalla said.

The happy winners stated that visa liberalization has been long-awaited.

"My son won the prize, so I am accompanying him. Visa liberalization should have happened earlier; various activities were conditioned by visas. Now we are free like birds, like all European citizens," said Habib Spahiu from Orahovac.

Milica Marinkovic from Gracanica said that she did not expect to win a free trip.

"Liberalization means a lot to us because now with a Kosovo passport, we can travel without visas. I got my passport, participated in the quiz, and they called me for the trip. I am surprised," she said.
