Kurti with Bakoyannis: Kosovo committed to the path leading to membership in the Council of Europe

Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti held talks today with the rapporteur for Kosovo in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Dora Bakoyannis, who is visiting Kosovo to gather information regarding Kosovo's request for membership in the Council of Europe. According to a statement by the Government of Kosovo, Bakoyannis expressed satisfaction with the changes and developments that Kosovo has achieved since her last visit 14 years ago.

She also emphasized that the report she would compile after this visit to Kosovo would serve as the basis for decision-making in the PACE.

The Government of Kosovo also stated that during the meeting, “it was noted that Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe is a historic process“.

"It was noted that Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe is a historic process contributing to the protection and enhancement of democracy, the rule of law, and human rights, and that Kosovo is fully committed to ensuring that each phase of membership progresses in the best possible way".
