Residents of Strpce who voted today in Raca, near Kursumlija, said they expected peace and stability, but above all the opportunity to remain in their homes.

Lazar Janicevic from Gotovusa said they had traveled a long way to reach the polling station.

“We traveled more than 100 kilometers to get here. We expect jobs and a better tomorrow for all of us,” Janicevic said.

Zorica Stevanovic said that, above all, she expected peace and security, as well as jobs for young people.

“I expect things to get better for us, to have peace, stability and security. To remain here. I hope that at least someone in my family will find a job. We just want to live in peace, remain in our homes and not have to move away,” Stevanovic said.

Pensioner Petar Milkovic said he expected higher salaries and pensions after the elections.

His fellow resident Milan Janjic said that, above all, he hoped to remain in his home.

“Hopefully things will get better. We just want to stay where we are,” Janjic said.
