Kurti dismisses Vokrri: His statements do not reflect the position of the Government of Kosovo
Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has dismissed Arbër Vokrri from his position as Deputy Minister of Local Government Administration.
According to a government statement, the decision followed Vokrri’s remarks in which he accused international diplomats and representatives of international institutions—specifically naming the Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Aivo Orav—of actions that allegedly incited unrest in northern Kosovo.
“Arbër Vokrri’s statements do not represent the positions of the Government of Kosovo,” the statement reads.
Yesterday, Vokrri claimed that international representatives had themselves provoked some of the disturbances, stating that he had personally witnessed several such situations.
“I’m not necessarily saying the unrest was large-scale, but through their statements and meetings, they encouraged individuals connected to the Serbian List to provoke incidents. These were international diplomats, representatives of international institutions,” Vokrri said, naming Aivo Orav specifically.
“After one incident, where a group of political activists from the north—known for their ties to the Serbian state—gathered, I later saw on social media that the same individuals had met with him just hours before the unrest began. That is just one example,” Vokrri added.
