Analyst from Pristina Alma Lama stated that UN meetings dedicated to Kosovo are unnecessary, emphasizing that UNMIK has completed its mission and that there is no need for its further engagement, since Kosovo is peaceful.

“The meetings in the United Nations about Kosovo and the reports on the situation are unnecessary. This should be the position not only of Kosovo but also of the UN, because, as was said yesterday, there is no crisis in Kosovo, and UNMIK completed its work after Kosovo declared independence. Therefore, it is unnecessary to hold such meetings and waste the budget on UNMIK, especially considering that there are many other countries facing deep and serious crises,” Lama told Kosovo Online.

According to her, Kosovo is peaceful, and UNMIK has completed its mission.

In her opinion, even the exchange of political views in this format is unnecessary, since, as she said, it does not produce any positive outcome for relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

“The members of the UN Security Council have their embassies here in Kosovo as well as in Serbia, so they are very well informed about the relations between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as about the dialogue between the two states. For all these reasons, I repeat once again, I see the UN meetings dedicated to Kosovo as unnecessary, especially when the Security Council should be discussing and making decisions about the wars in Ukraine and Gaza,” Lama concluded.
