Macut condemns brutal beating of Raskovic: Violence against Serbs in Kosovo must stop immediately

Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut strongly condemned the brutal beating of Nenad Raskovic from the village of Dren near Zubin Potok and said that violence against Serbs in Kosovo must stop immediately.

Macut wrote on Instagram that he was deeply disturbed by the brutality to which Nenad Raskovic had been subjected and that there was and could be no justification for violence against a person or for endangering his life and dignity.

He called on international representatives in Kosovo to react urgently and demand that full responsibility for the incident be established.

"I expect a clear and unequivocal response from the international community," Macut stressed, adding that violence against Serbs must not become an everyday occurrence to which anyone turns a blind eye.

He stressed that everyone must have the right to security, regardless of their ethnicity, and that those who jeopardize that right must be held accountable.

Nenad Raskovic from the village of Dren was brutally beaten by members of the Kosovo Police last night after they had first searched his home. He was initially hospitalized at the Clinical Hospital Center in Kosovska Mitrovica, but due to the severity of his injuries, he was transferred today to the Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic visited him at the Emergency Center and said that his injuries were more serious than initially thought.
