Mali: Many US companies want to do business in Serbia
Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali met today with representatives of the 16 largest US companies, which are visiting Serbia in the organization of the American-Central European Association (ACEBA), Pink reports.
ACEBA representatives spoke yesterday with Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic, Minister of Trade Tomislav Momirovic, and Minister of Economy Rade Basta.
Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy in Belgrade John Ginkel, on the occasion of the 16 largest US companies delegation visit, told Tanjug that they were interested in investing in Serbia and cooperating with Serbian companies.
Ginkel pointed out that the economic ties strengthening also contributed to the improving political relations between Serbia and the US.
"It is very important that the US and Serbia share strategic priorities. For example, Serbia is becoming a member of the EU, and we are here to help its transformation and to be closer to the EU," Ginkel emphasized.
According to him, those companies came to Serbia because Serbia is a good business place.
Ginkel states that American companies, which already operate in Serbia, are satisfied with their investments and that the fact that American companies have invested more than four billion dollars since 2001 and now employ more than 30,000 people speaks volumes.
"That's why many other American companies want to come to this market and do business here," Ginkel stressed.
