Meeting of defense directors of Kosovo, Albania, and Croatia held on joint security projects

Based on the joint trilateral declaration signed in 2025 by the defense ministers of Kosovo, Croatia, and Albania, a trilateral meeting of directors for defense policy and armaments was held, the Kosovo Ministry of Defense announced today.

The statement notes that this activity represents one of the actions to implement the cooperation agreed upon in the trilateral defense cooperation agreement between Kosovo, Albania, and Croatia.

The Kosovo delegation was led by Director for Defense Policy Faruk Geci, and the meeting included an exchange of views on ways to enhance joint cooperation in defense capabilities, cooperation between the defense industries of the signatory countries, as well as on further steps for implementing the Declaration.

The Declaration identifies four main areas of further trilateral cooperation, which include: promoting cooperation in defense capacities and the defense industry; increasing interoperability through education, training, and joint exercises; addressing hybrid threats and strengthening resilience; and providing continuous and full support for Euro-Atlantic integration.

“The joint trilateral declaration also confirms the commitment to further strengthen trilateral cooperation in security and defense between Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo, with the aim of increasing security and stability in Southeast Europe. In this context, the importance of coordinated efforts to address new security challenges, hybrid threats, and other risks that could endanger regional and international stability was emphasized,” the statement says.
