Yael Menache, the president of the France-Serbia Parliamentary Friendship Group and a member of the French party National Rally, stated that she supported Serbia's accession to the European Union but not without Kosovo, as reported by Politika.

"We support Serbia's entry into the EU, but certainly not without Kosovo, which, for us, is a province of Serbia," Menache said in an interview with Politika. As she emphasized, her movement believes Serbia and Kosovo are inseparable.

When asked about her opinion on the plan of French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for resolving the Kosovo issue, Menache replied that she did not expect much from that plan because she believed that "any approach that legitimized Kosovo as an independent state legitimized the suffering of the Serbian people at the hands of the Albanians."

"I know that a lot was signed ten years ago and that nothing was respected. I would support new plans, but I believe that what was promised ten years ago must be respected. Personally, as well as a member of this party, I don't expect much from that plan," she said.

She stated that political relations between Serbia and France were not at their peak and that there was always room for improvement.

"This is also the wish of the leader of our group, Marine Le Pen, to deepen Serbian-French relations," she said, adding that efforts would be made in that direction.

Menache explained that the role of the president of the friendship group with Serbia was to deepen the relationship between the two countries.

"To introduce the French people to your culture, history, and identity, and to deepen that friendship through the organization of various events," she added.

Menache emphasized that it was especially important to work with the younger population of the French, as well as with the Serbian diaspora, to better acquaint the French public with Serbian culture, which was not widely known among the French.

As she noted, a connection is maintained with the Serbian diaspora in France, and there are numerous associations in Paris.

"This is one of the tasks I have as the president of the friendship group. There are numerous events organized by the Serbian diaspora," Menache added.

She also mentioned that on June 28, she had attended a commemoration at the Serbian military cemetery in Paris.

"In certain areas, Serbs suffered even more than Jews," Menache emphasized.
