The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo has condemned Serbia’s statements regarding Kenya’s recognition of Kosovo as unacceptable, accusing Belgrade of violating international principles and its obligations under the Brussels Dialogue.

In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo emphasized that this is further proof that Serbia has no interest in normalizing relations with Kosovo.

"Once again, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Serbia have revealed their true face, showing once again that they have no interest in normalizing relations with Kosovo," the response from Kosovo’s MFA, published on Facebook, reads.

The Ministry described Serbia’s statement as an unacceptable action, stressing that "Serbia continues its campaign of lies, manipulation, and propaganda against Kosovo, using all means at its disposal to hinder our country’s path toward full integration into international mechanisms."

Kosovo’s MFA pointed out that this action is a continuation of Serbia’s behavior, which has consistently ignored its obligations to normalize relations with Kosovo, as foreseen in the dialogue for normalization led by the European Union.

"This is not the first time that Serbia has openly ignored its obligations to the European Union. By refusing to recognize Kosovo and violating international legal principles, Serbia openly challenges its obligations under Articles 1-5 of the Agreement on the Path to Normalization, reached within the framework of the Brussels Dialogue. Serbia’s refusal to implement these obligations confirms the continued improper reaction of the state and the lack of good intentions in the stabilization process."

"The claim that 28 countries have withdrawn recognition of Kosovo in the last eight years is an unscrupulous lie," it further states.

Kosovo’s MFA also called "Serbia’s attempt to undermine Kosovo’s international position a continuous failure" and emphasized that Serbia cannot be trusted.

They stated that Serbia’s actions represent a threat to Kosovo, saying that Serbia’s threats to "more decisively defend" its sovereignty and territorial integrity represent a dangerous signal of the possibility of aggression.

"The latest act of aggression against the Republic of Kosovo in Banjska and the attack on critical infrastructure in the Ibar-Lepenac canal, carried out by groups supported by Serbia, is a clear reminder of Serbia’s readiness to use violence to destabilize Kosovo. We call on the international community to strongly condemn Serbia’s aggressive rhetoric and its continuous violation of obligations," the response concludes.
