Milovic: Removing billboards does not lead to calming but to further escalation of the situation in northern Kosovo

Vice President of the Serb List, Dragisa Milovic, stated that the removal of billboards in Zvecan did not lead to de-escalation and calming but to further escalation of the situation on the ground.

"All this is happening in the presence of representatives of the international community who are here primarily to bring peace, stabilization, and mutual trust. With such moves, I do not see de-escalation, calming of the situation on the ground, but on the contrary, escalation," Milovic said for TV Most.

He pointed out that the removal of billboards was an example of the use of force and a message that everything related to Serbia should be removed. He also said that after 25 years of destroying Serbian cemeteries, churches, and monasteries, flags and billboards had come next.

"This is also an example of the use of force and a message sent to us by representatives of Pristina that everything Serbian, everything related to Serbia should be removed. We have witnessed for 25 years that Serbian cemeteries are being destroyed, churches are being burned, and monasteries are being destroyed. Now they are bothered by Serbian flags, and we see that they are bothered by the UNMIK flag as well," Milovic said.

According to him, significant Serbian personalities, honorary citizens of this municipality, were presented on the billboard in Zvecan.

"In the end, billboards featuring honorary citizens of our municipality, such as academician Zoran Krivokapic, a world-renowned surgeon, Novak Djokovic, the best tennis player in the world, and many of our humanitarian workers, Arlov, Ambassador Djuric, and President Vucic, have come next. So, someone is bothered even by that," Milovic concluded.

Kosovo Police today removed a billboard featuring honorary citizens of this municipality in Zvecan. Ministers Xhelal Svecla and Elbert Krasnicqi were present at the event.

Svecla posted a video of the billboard removal on his Facebook account with a comment that the only symbol of Serbia in Kosovo would be its embassy in Pristina.
