Mojsilovic and Romano on the security situation in Kosovo and relations between the Serbian Army and NATO
The Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilovic, spoke today with the head of the NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade, Brigadier General Giampiero Romano, about the current security situation in the region, the activities of the Military Liaison Office and the overall relations between the Serbian Armed Forces and NATO, with special reference to cooperation with KFOR, RTV reports.
With the assessment that partnership and professional relations with NATO contribute to building peace and stability in the region, Mojsilovic pointed out that the Serbian Armed Forces were committed to continuing cooperation in all areas of mutual interest and added that the cooperation mechanisms established within the Partnership for Peace Program made this possible, the Ministry of Defense announced.
Speaking about the security situation in Kosovo, the Chief of the General Staff pointed out that the presence of the mission of international forces was crucial for the protection of the Serbian national, cultural, historical, and religious heritage.
Mojsilovic expressed his belief that KFOR, as the only legitimate security actor in Kosovo, would act impartially and professionally in all situations in accordance with Resolution 1244 of the United Nations Security Council.
