Mojsilovic: Security guidelines regarding the situation in Kosovo defined
Chief of the General Staff of Serbia, Milan Mojsilovic, stated that the National Security Council session addressed the situation in the region, the security situation in Kosovo, and that guidelines and conclusions were adopted on the next steps to be taken by Serbia and the competent authorities.
“We are witnessing the harassment of the Serbian population not only in the north, but across the entirety of Kosovo and Metohija. The implementation of unprecedented unilateral moves that directly threaten the lives and health of minorities, in this case, Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, has politically manifested itself through the actions of the provisional institutions in Priština. This issue has rightly attracted the full attention not only of the members of the National Security Council, but also more broadly, in terms of defining conclusions, directives, and guidelines for our future actions,” Mojsilovic stated.
He added that President Aleksandar Vucic also briefed them on a non-paper prepared by France and Germany.
“The President of Serbia informed us about a document prepared by France and Germany. It is a non-paper that directly pertains to Bosnia and Herzegovina and further complicates the position of Republika Srpska,” Mojsilovic said.
He noted that members of the expanded National Security Council were also informed about the content of the document, and that guidelines were defined for how Serbia would approach the matter.
In conclusion, he emphasized that tasks were clearly defined for the Serbian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“In line with today's conclusions and directives, the relevant institutions and bodies have been assigned operational positions to address the challenges ahead,” Mojsilovic said.
