Analyst Artan Muhaxhiri believes that the relationship between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, will not improve because there is a certain type of competition between them, and also because they have political styles that are not compatible.

“Everything is as it was before. They do not have the best relations. There was an idea that Prime Minister Rama supported President Vjosa Osmani, especially regarding the Board of Peace, and Prime Minister Kurti probably saw that as a kind of internal competition directed against him,” Muhaxhiri told Kosovo Online.

Responding to the question of whether the process being conducted in The Hague against former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army united Kosovo and Albania, Muhaxhiri said that Prime Minister Rama was louder and more energetic and invested more effort and spoke more with international leaders than Prime Minister Kurti when it comes to those accused in The Hague.

“Rama wants to show that his connection with Kosovo is fundamental and not based on day-to-day politics. In general, I think that the trial in The Hague should remain outside politics because the court’s decision will significantly change the political scene in Kosovo, as well as issues related to Kosovo’s history. Therefore, I think that what Prime Minister Rama is doing is very appropriate and this should be a lesson for all Kosovo politicians,” Muhaxhiri said.
