Former LDK leader Isa Mustafa stated that various tricks can be expected from the current president and his former associate, Vjosa Osmani, in order for her to remain in power, reports Nacionale.

Mustafa emphasized that in recent months, Vjosa Osmani has once again aligned herself with Albin Kurti’s political course, and that this comes as no surprise to him.

“As for the president, she has proven to be a ruthless political careerist and manipulator. So far, she has approved and implemented all the actions of Kurti’s government that have led to the political and economic isolation of the country,” Mustafa said.

He added that Osmani has left Kosovo without a Chief State Prosecutor, has violated the Constitution in several instances, and has never reacted to constitutional violations committed by the Government.

“Even now, we can expect her to resort to tricks in order to stay in power,” Mustafa stated.

Speaking about Albin Kurti’s decision to grant a 13th salary to public sector employees, Mustafa described it as unjust and populist.

According to him, Self-Determ acts like a “para-state group that has usurped power and the state.”

Mustafa stressed that such decisions do not contribute to Kosovo’s economic development, Nacionale writes.

“The question arises: what special contribution have public sector employees made to be rewarded with a 13th salary—a salary paid from the budget, which is part of the GDP, created through productive and service activities? A responsible government treats employees in both the private and public sectors equally, which is not the case with the para-state group that has usurped power and the state. A country cannot develop through such actions,” said Mustafa.

He added that Kosovo’s GDP per capita, measured by purchasing power parity, stands at 30 percent of the EU average and 72 percent of the Western Balkans average.

“In this situation, boasting about annual economic growth rates of four percent is unserious. If this continues, we will not come any closer to the European Union even by the end of this century,” Mustafa concluded.
