Nikolic: Kurti’s cowardly moves demonstrate fear of Serbian unity
President of the Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Danijela Nikolic assessed that Kosovo’s caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti continues a policy of unilateral actions and pressure against the Serbian people in Kosovo, stating that Serbs will not respond with violence, but through democratic means and support for their political representatives.
“It is clear that Albin Kurti continues his policy of unilateral actions, provocations, and pressure against the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, attempting to break the will of the Serbs through long guns, special police units, and institutional violence. For cowards and weak men always seek to demonstrate their power through force, while true strength is reflected in dialogue, peace, and respect for agreements,” Nikolic stated in a press release.
She said that Kurti has no political solutions to the problems Kosovo is facing, but instead resorts to pressure and provocations directed at the Serbs.
“Today, Kurti has nothing to offer either to his own people or to the region except the long guns of his police forces, armored vehicles, and new provocations against the Serbs. Unable to put his own ranks in order, resolve economic problems, or address the growing dissatisfaction among Albanians, he attempts to seize, occupy, and impose control where he will never have what matters most — the trust and support of the Serbian people. However, precisely such cowardly moves demonstrate fear of Serbian unity and the strength of a people that continues to survive on its ancestral hearths,” she emphasized.
Nikolic stated that the Serbian people will respond democratically and through massive support for their legitimate representatives.
“The Serbian people will not respond with violence, but with the language of democracy, unity, and mass participation. Every attempt at intimidation will be met with even stronger support for their legitimate representatives and a clear message that no one can erase or politically humiliate the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija,” she said.
Nikolic believes that a victory of the Serb List will be the strongest response to Kurti’s policies.
“It is precisely the victory of the Serb List that will be the strongest response to Kurti and to all those who believe that the will of the Serbian people can be broken by force. That victory will not merely be a political result, but proof of the survival, unity, and determination of the Serbs to remain and endure in Kosovo and Metohija,” Nikolic concluded.
