Nikolic: Verdicts against Milenkovic, Vlajic, and Pantic are shameful

Chairwoman of the Committee on Kosovo and Metohija in the National Assembly of Serbia, Danijela Nikolic, stated that Milun Milenkovic, Aleksandar Vlajic, and Dejan Pantic were convicted in what she described as politically orchestrated trials, and that their only "guilt" lies in being Serbs—determined to remain on their land, in their homes, and under their name and identity

"Those who, by all rights and standards of justice, should be held accountable for terrorism, atrocities, and the expulsion of Serbs and non-Albanians from Kosovo and Metohija—according to 'laws' known only to them—are instead the ones arresting, investigating, and convicting people without evidence," Nikolic stated in a press release.

She condemned the verdicts handed down to Milenkovic, Vlajic, and Pantic as baseless, unlawful, and shameful—delivered not for any crimes they committed, but solely because they are Serbs.

"One thing is certain—the 'crime' they are guilty of is the one they were born with: their place of residence, which they never changed, and their decision to remain with their families in their homes, bearing their Serbian names and surnames," she emphasized.

Nikolic stressed that the verdict can be interpreted as a "legal remedy for the entire Serbian people," clearly conveying that for Serbs, "only prison cells and handcuffs await," as, under the political agenda of Albin Kurti and Xhelal Sveçla, "ethnic cleansing is being carried out under the label of urgency."

She pointed out that those who now "judge and convict," such as Kurti and Sveçla, have documented histories of violence against members of international forces and of throwing tear gas and shock grenades in the parliament in Pristina, while, she noted, "the shooting of two Serbian boys in Strpce was treated by the court as an offense without classification, allowing the perpetrator to walk free."

"All of us who carry Serbian names and surnames, and who hold legal title to our homes and fields, are, according to Kurti and part of the international community, deemed guilty of a serious crime—merely because we want to remain on our ancestral land, in our Kosovo and Metohija," Nikolic concluded.
