The Office for Kosovo and Metohija reported that around midnight last night, Dejan Radic from Staro Gracko, in the municipality of Lipljan, was beaten and robbed in his home. The Office characterized this attack as ethnically motivated and warned that it had caused immense concern and fear among the remaining Serbs in this village.

"Three attackers, speaking Albanian, first tied him up, then beat him with a stick, and finally robbed him. The unfortunate man was assisted by Serbian neighbors who called the police, as Dejan has lived alone in the family home since his mother recently passed away," the statement said.

The Office added that this attack was the result of anti-Serb policies and institutional violence by Pristina and Albin Kurti.

"This brutal attack is a consequence of the anti-Serb policies and institutional violence carried out by Pristina and Albin Kurti against Serbs, as well as numerous instances of police brutality, which send the message that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are desirable and legitimate targets for Albanians and that no one will be held accountable for their suffering," the Office for Kosovo and Metohija emphasized.

As they stressed, attacks on Serbs have become a daily occurrence in Kosovo "because every act of hatred breeds and inspires further hatred, and even after two and a half decades, Serbs in this afflicted village have no peace and are again targeted by Albanians."

"This attack has caused immense concern and anxiety among the remaining Serbs living in Staro Gracko because those who are obligated to protect them turn their heads away, refusing to acknowledge their own shame. Will any international representative from Pristina speak out about the suffering that Dejan endured and visit him, or does he not exist in their eyes? Will human rights advocates raise their voices for a brutally beaten Serb in Kosovo and Metohija and demand that Pristina and Kurti stop promoting and advocating policies that inspire violence and terror against Serbs?" the Office for Kosovo and Metohija concluded.
