Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Kurti's Regime Responsible for the Epidemic of Violence Against Serbs
Two Serbs were beaten in the night between Saturday and Sunday in Bosnjacka Mahala, in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, and just two days earlier, a group of extremists led by Albin Kurti nearby, in front of the "Sunce3" building, robbed and assaulted a Serb, P. K., and then a Bosniak, J. S., was arrested at the Brnjak administrative crossing under fabricated charges of alleged war crimes, announced the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
They emphasize that "this latest epidemic of violence is the responsibility of the extremist regime of Albin Kurti, whose policy of oppressing Serbs, designed in the offices in Pristina, is increasingly spilling onto the streets."
"To make matters worse, the international sponsors of Pristina and Albin Kurti act as if daily ethnically motivated violence is completely normal and usual, given that there has been no reaction from the Quint in Pristina to the latest series of attacks, nor to the arrest of J. S., which none of the international representatives have spoken against or condemned," the Office states.
However, they add, "when in central Serbia, three Albanians were merely detained, not arrested, for a war crime, there was not a single Quint representative who did not call, protest, pressure, and publicly react, which directly shows the policy of double standards of the international community."
"For the Quint, Serbs have obviously become a legitimate target, and violence against them is co-sponsored by the silence and inaction of foreigners. More than 500 attacks on Serbs and their property since Kurti took over the head of the provisional self-government institutions in Pristina are the most eloquent possible proof that there is an attempt at systematic oppression and intimidation of the Serbian people, with the goal of ethnically cleansing Kosovo and Metohija of any non-Albanian elements. Those who today remain silent in the face of scenes of violence and horror in the north of Kosovo and Metohija are sending a clear message about their desires and intentions, not only to the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija but also to Serbia and the entire Serbian nation," concludes the statement.
