Orban on the release of Kosovo police officers: I highly appreciate Vucic's step; proof of our strategic cooperation
Hungarian President Viktor Orban has stated that he highly appreciates the step taken by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to release the three Kosovo police officers from custody.
In a Twitter post, Orban noted that this decision is clear proof of the strategic cooperation between Serbia and Hungary and their shared commitment to peace and stability in the Balkans.
"Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has just informed me that in accordance with the request made at our meeting last week, the Serbian authorities will soon release the three previously arrested Kosovo policemen from custody. We highly appreciate the step of President Vucic, which he took in a period of serious challenges, and which decision is a clear proof of the strategic cooperation between our countries, and our mutual commitment to the peace and stability of the Balkans," Orban said.
Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Szijjarto also praised the decision of the Serbian authorities regarding the release of the Kosovo police officers on Facebook.
"President Aleksandar Vucic has just informed Prime Minister Viktor Orban that, in accordance with his request made during last week's meeting, the Serbian authorities will soon release the three Kosovo police officers who were previously detained. Viktor Orban highly appreciates the step taken by the Serbian President, which he made during a period of serious challenges, and this decision is clear proof of the deep friendship between the Serbian and Hungarian people and the strategic cooperation between the two countries," Szijjarto said.
