The President of the Serbian Parliament, Vladimir Orlic, said that the letter of 56 parliamentarians, from several countries, sent to the EU, the USA and Great Britain, in which they demanded a tightening of the policy towards Serbia because of Kosovo, was clearly a kind of pressure, RTV reports.

"The signatories are MPs from states that have more than 6,000 MPs, so the total number tells you how much importance should be given to the whole thing. The fact that they are presidents of some committees tells you roughly how they should be treated and how important it is. What do you think how would Spain position itself and react, for example, if Borko Stefanovic and Cuta Jovanovic from here sent a letter criticizing the Spanish Prime Minister and advocating for an independent Catalonia," Orlic stated and noted that "they certainly wouldn't be too shaken up".

In an interview for Tanjug, he pointed out that the list of signatories, also included proven lobbyists of independent Kosovo.

When it comes to the work of the parliament, Orlic said that in the previous year, the MPs had adopted 120 laws and had spent more than 70 days in the plenum, stating that the next session would be scheduled at the end of August or the beginning of September.

When asked about the atmosphere in which MPs had worked in the previous period, since there had also been incidents in the House of the National Assembly, Orlic said that the incidents always came from one side, from MPs who, he said, represented the parties of the former Government.

"Those who are the most persistent in disrupting the sessions, in cursing other members of parliament, in attempts to create physical incidents, are those who the whole of Serbia saw attacking the President of Serbia when he came to speak about Kosovo and Metohija, at their invitation, but also how they ran into the benches of other MPs trying to cause a physical incident. This is, on the one hand, a picture of the atmosphere we had, but it is above all a picture of those who do these things. It certainly cannot affect a serious and responsible majority, nor is it the face of Serbia," Orlic pointed out.
