OSCE: We are monitoring actions in North Mitrovica, Strpce, and Zubin Potok with concern
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo notes with concern the recent actions in Strpce, North Mitrovica, and Zubin Potok, including measures taken against communal enterprises, water supply systems, and the closure of the Sports Hall in North Mitrovica.
“The shutdown of such institutions without sustainable alternatives, community engagement, or proper institutional continuity risks severely affecting non-majority communities’ access to essential services,” the OSCE stated on the social media platform X.
The Mission reiterated that such issues should be addressed through constructive engagement and expressed support for resolving them within the framework of the EU-facilitated dialogue.
“In relation to these developments, the Mission is increasingly worried about inflammatory statements on social media, particularly extreme remarks on Telegram. This divisive rhetoric only serves to intensify tensions. Responsible communication remains vital for de-escalation and fostering trust among communities,” they added.
