Pavkovic: With the help of women, Osmani is appealing to the undecided segment of the electorate

Milos Pavkovic, Director of Strategy at the Center for European Policies in Belgrade, stated that former Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani included women in her political campaign with a strategic goal – to appeal to the undecided female electorate, as well as to those who previously voted for Self-Determination.

Pavkovic points out that Vjosa Osmani’s political engagement had previously, during her presidential term, also been directed toward women.

“Remember her appearance at the United Nations, when she invited women victims of war to attend the session and sit behind her. She has a history of engagement with the female electorate, and obviously this is a well-thought-out political strategy to further address this electorate and consolidate it, that is, to attract as many women’s votes as possible. The reason is that she sees potential there to overturn or take over part of the electorate that traditionally voted for Self-Determination,” Pavkovic told Kosovo Online regarding the fact that several women joined Vjosa Osmani even before she officially confirmed her return to the Democratic League of Kosovo.

Asked whom she is actually appealing to and to whom that potential electorate whose votes Osmani is counting on previously belonged, Pavkovic says that they are mostly undecided women.

“We do not have concrete research that we can cite and determine that precisely. It is possible that part of the electorate belongs to Self-Determination, and it is also possible that some of them are undecided, so it is obvious that Osmani is targeting that segment of the electorate. These are women who are undecided and who were potentially voters of Self-Determination. She wants to win them over, take them away, and bring victory to the Democratic League of Kosovo,” Pavkovic concluded.
