Perovic: Chaos and destruction in Municipal Building, Kosovo police still present without legal basis
The newly elected mayor of Zubin Potok, Milos Perovic, stated that he found destruction and chaos today inside the municipal building, noting that it will take a great deal of time and resources for the premises to look presentable again. He added that members of the Kosovo Police are still present in municipal offices without any legal basis.
“After officially assuming office today as the mayor of Zubin Potok, I visited all offices and found destruction and chaos — damaged furniture, devastated rooms, broken doors in almost every office, especially in those previously used by members of the special police units,” Perovic wrote on Instagram.
He added that traces of fire were visible in one of the offices.
“It looks as if someone lit a fire in that spot,” he stated.
Perovic emphasized that significant time, funds, and effort will be required to restore the municipal building to a decent state.
“In addition, it should be noted that although they were obliged to vacate the municipal premises, the Kosovo Police remain in the annex of our building without any legal basis, and their vehicles are parked on the square in front of the Cultural Center — a space our children normally use for everyday play,” Perovic underlined.
