Petkovic: The construction of a police station in Lesak is a direct threat and intimidation of the remaining Serbs
Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, stated that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti continues the policy of police occupation in the north by building a police station in Lesak, which, as he noted, does not bring safety or peace to the Serbian people in the area, but rather represents a direct threat, intimidation, and provocation to the remaining Serbs.
Petkovic emphasized that according to none of the points of the Brussels Agreement do Pristina and Albin Kurti have the right to establish their mono-ethnic police bases and training grounds in northern Kosovo, which they intend to use to finally expel the Serbs and complete their policy of ethnic cleansing.
"The purpose of Kurti's police in northern Kosovo and Metohija was evident last night when they brutally beat and mistreated Serbian youths, and later arrested them. It was also evident when they shot Milan Jovanovic, Srecko Sofronijevic, and Dragisa Galjak, when they brutally beat Serbian children Dara and Kristijan, and there are many more such examples. That’s why Kurti today fled from journalists and did not dare to answer any such questions, because both he and the entire international community know well the true purpose of his police stations and bases in northern Kosovo and Metohija, and that he is neither welcome there nor has any business being there," Petkovic said.
He added that the Serbs will always see him as what he truly is: "a bully, usurper, and persecutor."
"The Serbian people know through their difficult history that no tyranny has ever lasted forever, and our people will always have the support of their state, Serbia, through all hardships," the statement concluded.
