President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, after meetings with the EU Envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, and the US Ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, emphasized that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti seeks the destruction and persecution of the Serbian people and that this is clear to everyone.

In his address to the media, after two hours of talks with the special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, and US Ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, Vucic announced that in the next 72 hours, he will address the public in Serbia and present what Serbia demands in response to what he described as a fundamental and brutal attack on the Serbian population, primarily in northern Kosovo, and what the international community has failed to fulfill.

“In the next 72 hours, we will address the public, and I will speak about what Serbia is asking for and what we expect,” Vucic said, announcing that in October he will present proposals to the Serbian Parliament on what Serbia will do regarding the entire situation.

“We must fight for Serbia on the world stage, seek allies, and we will do everything possible to achieve this, but it is now clear that Kurti only wants the destruction and expulsion of the Serbian people. I think that is now obvious to everyone, not just us,” he emphasized.

He said that Kurti’s actions, such as eliminating jobs, preventing people from getting married, or divorced, or obtaining death certificates for family members, all pointed to Kurti’s intentions.

"Despite all of this, Europe and the Quint countries only offer words of condemnation. Then, no matter how much your hands are tied and how difficult the position has been since 2008, you must take steps that either restore certain rights or admit that you are unable to protect your people. We don’t have the right to the latter because we are bound by the Constitution and also the agreements in Brussels," Vucic said, reiterating that he will address the public within the next 72 hours with serious measures and proposals.

Regarding the dialogue, Vucic stated that he is ready to go to Brussels today to talk with Kurti, but that Serbia is not ready and will not allow the pogrom and persecution of the Serbian people.
