Serb List: The brutality of Kosovo Police has become a daily reality in the north
The brutality of the Kosovo Police under the regime of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has become a daily reality in northern Kosovo, the Serb List stated in response to the arrest of four Serbian young men in North Mitrovica.
"This is not the first time there is clear evidence of the brutality of Kurti’s subordinates, yet there is no oversight from the Kosovo Inspectorate nor any reaction from international representatives to the institutional repression against the Serbian people," the Serb List's statement reads.
They further emphasize the concerning practice of denying Serbian doctors the right to examine detainees, thus covering up evidence of brutality against unarmed young men.
"The excessive use of force and the arrest of the youths was accompanied by beatings, humiliation, and the threat of automatic firearms on the city promenade in the heart of North Mitrovica. You won't witness such scenes anywhere else in Kosovo and Metohija, and this inhumane and unprofessional conduct is clearly reserved for Serbs," the statement continues.
The arrest of the young man who filmed this brutal action, as mentioned in the statement, proves how these factions are concealing evidence of their crimes.
"While international representatives appeal for Serbs to remain calm and restrained, Kurti seems to use this to further oppress the Serbs and test the patience and endurance of all of us," the statement concludes.
