Petkovic: Kurti's ideology of evil must stop for the region to have a chance to develop
Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, ahead of the most joyous Christian holiday, Christmas, and on the eve of the anniversary of the attack on Serbian children in Gotovusa, stated that the ideology of evil of Albin Kurti must stop for the region in which the Serbs and Albanians lived together to have a chance to develop.
In the statement, Petkovic assessed that Kurti had once again tasked himself with igniting hatred and conflict in the region, and he had told him that Belgrade, without any calculations, had fulfilled its previously undertaken obligations regarding freedom of movement. At the same time, Belgrade had taken away from Kurti one of the levers for exerting pressure and violence against the Serbs in Kosovo, once again demonstrating a genuine commitment to peace and normalization.
He adds that Kurti, who has tasked himself with reigniting the flames of hatred and conflict in the region, does not at all understand the concept of normalizing relations and building trust among people.
"He does not understand that ordinary people in Kosovo and Metohija, whether Serbs or Albanians, do not want to be hostages to his ideology of hatred, but want to live normally and safely. The Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija will never agree to respond to hatred with hatred, but will decisively and democratically fight for their rights, freedom, and dignity", Petkovic stated.
According to him, when it comes to enabling freedom of movement, Belgrade, without any calculations perceived by paranoid minds, has fulfilled the obligations previously undertaken by the previous government in 2011.
"The only ones who might object to people moving freely throughout our region are extremists and isolationists because they are panically afraid that people of various faiths and nations have contacts and cooperate, as this kind of freedom and generosity undermines the ideology of hatred on which Kurti and his like-minded colleagues build their political careers. On the eve of the most joyous Christian holiday, Christmas, and on the day before the anniversary of the treacherous and criminal attack on Serbian children in Gotovusa, we once again emphasize that Kurti's ideology of evil must stop for the region in which the Serbs and Albanians live together to have a chance to develop", Petkovic concluded.
