Petkovic: Today's Committee on Kosovo and Metohija session showed that the opposition is not interested in Kosovo
The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said today that part of the opposition at today's session of the Committee on Kosovo and Metohija had gone wild, behaved violently, and left the session, TV Most reports.
Petkovic, who, as he said, came to the Committee on Kosovo and Metohija session to present the report of that Office, as well as everything that was discussed in Brussels and Ohrid, in this sense, he mentioned the leader of the Serbian Movement Dveri, Bosko Obradovic, the president of the Serbian Party Zavetnici (Oathkeepers), Milica Djurdjevic Stamenkovski, as well as MPs of the People's Party, while, he says, MPs of the New Democratic Party of Serbia did not even show up at the Committee session.
"At the Committee on Kosovo and Metohija meeting, we witnessed the opposition representatives' new violent behavior and rampage. I came to present to the MPs the Office for Kosovo and Metohija's report and everything that we discussed during the last round of dialogue in Brussels, but also about all important matters, including both the EU proposal and the Annex, that is, the document on implementation that we discussed in Ohrid," Petkovic told reporters during a break in the session of the Committee on Kosovo and Metohija.
As he says, he had everything ready in his hands to speak openly and to answer all the questions of the Committee on Kosovo and Metohija members.
"Not five minutes had passed since the start of the session, and Drecun, as the chairman of the Committee, had not even opened the session; Bosko Obradovic, Milica Djurdjevic Stamenkovski, and Jeremic's MPs began to shout, insult, talk over Drecun, stand up, and create chaos, demanding some kind of addition to the daily agenda, all in order to repeat the scenario from the special session on Kosovo and Metohija," Petkovic said.
He reminds that at that special session, which was attended by President Aleksandar Vucic, people from the same political organizations wanted to cause violence and complete chaos, as he claims.
"These representatives of the opposition are not interested in the topic of Kosovo and Metohija, what is being negotiated in Brussels, nor are they interested in the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija," Petkovic said, adding that today "all the lies of Bosko Obradovic, Milica Djurdjevic Stamenkovski, and MPs of the People's Party have been exposed."
Petkovic says that the fact that the session was closed to the public bothered the opposition, and he asked if he should reveal Belgrade's plans to Albin Kurti.
"Should I endanger the lives of our people in Kosovo and Metohija? You see every day what is happening and how Pristina is trying to expel Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija," Petkovic said.
Petkovic stated that he was there to answer all questions and repeated that he would never allow Kosovo to become a member of the UN.
"Because we have a clear conscience and because we fight day and night and prepare for every meeting, I can look everyone in the eyes and say what I am doing and in what way President Aleksandar Vucic is fighting to protect this country, to preserve peace, stability, and constitutional order," Petkovic pointed out.
Petkovic believes that the reason for the opposition's behavior is because, as he says, he spoiled their plans.
"Stamenkovski requested that a board meeting be convened urgently. I immediately responded to Milovan Drecun's call and came with all the papers, and when I showed up, it was obvious that they were surprised," Petkovic said, adding that the opposition had called a press conference earlier where they wanted to talk about how Kosovo was not being discussed.
