Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti has achieved what is considered impossible in American politics – he has united politicians from the Democratic and Republican parties, European Politico writes.

"Unfortunately for Kurti and Kosovo, he has united them in the view that the Kosovo leader is stubborn and sometimes reckless, undermining the joint efforts of the US and EU to achieve a lasting solution for peace between Kosovo and Serbia," Politico writes.

According to the article, Washington solely blames Kurti for the recent escalation of violence in northern Kosovo but fails to rein him in with public criticism.

"We have some fundamental problems with whether we can count on him as a partner," US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill said for Voice of America earlier this month.

Kurti's actions have also been criticized by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former special envoy for the region Richard Grenell, but the public criticism from the Biden administration is exceptional for several reasons.
