POLL Serbs in the north: We won't participate in Kosovo elections until the Community of Serb Municipalities is formed

Citizens of Leposavic, as well as those throughout the north of Kosovo, firmly stand behind the position that they will not participate in the extraordinary local elections scheduled for Sunday, April 23, nor any other elections, until the Community of Serb Municipalities is formed, and Pristina fulfills what has been agreed upon. They unequivocally confirmed this in a Kosovo Online poll, adding that they were not interested in the April 23 elections.

Aleksandar Miletic from Leposavic believes that elections in the north of Kosovo are not being held democratically, and the cause of that is the disregard for what has been agreed upon in negotiations.

"I can say on my behalf and that of the people I know that the position is that we will not participate in the elections until what has been agreed upon is fulfilled. What was agreed upon in the negotiations must be fulfilled. We have had enough of repression, we have had enough of everything. What was agreed upon in the negotiations of 2013, 2015, and the recent negotiations must be fulfilled so that we can give our full contribution to the next elections, which, of course, will happen if they are held democratically," Miletic said.

Zorana Vasic also told us that Serbs would not participate in the elections and that they demanded the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities.

"No, we don't plan to participate in the elections until the Community of Serb Municipalities is formed and until Kurti's terror stops," Vasic added.

Veselin Radovic adds that the elections that will be held on Sunday virtually do not exist for him.

"We have no intention of participating; as far as we are concerned, those elections do not exist. They are not legal, and the majority population in these areas does not recognize such elections. Until the Community of Serb Municipalities is formed, which is the position of our Republic of Serbia and our position, we have no intention of participating in any elections on our territory," Radovic said.
