Radakovic: Almost no voter turnout, issue with cameras set up to record how each person votes

Executive Director of the Center for Advocacy of Democratic Culture, Dusan Radakovic, emphasized that there is an extremely low turnout for the vote to recall the mayors in four municipalities in northern Kosovo, adding that there is an evident issue with the placement of ballot boxes because they are positioned in a way that allows the camera to directly record how each person voted.

"Election day from 7 o'clock is passing quietly with very, very little or no turnout at all. We have seven votes where the electoral boards voted at their polling stations in Leposavic, all Albanians, we have three votes of Albanians in the municipality of North Mitrovica, and there is no turnout at all in other places," Radakovic said for Kosovo Online.

He further added that the election day started with a problem due to security cameras.

The cameras are placed very oddly, and the biggest noticeable mistake is the issue with the ballot boxes, which are turned upside down, meaning the camera can literally capture how each person votes. We filed a complaint with the Central Election Commission, they say they were told in Albania, where the cameras were donated from, to set them up like that," he stated.

He added that there is another problem, which is the number of people at the polling stations.

Every polling station with three people, he said, according to the law can be opened, but voting cannot take place there.

"There is little or no turnout, I do not expect problems generally in the whole process," he noted.
