Radovic: Krasniqi's statement is incorrect; we haven't received the necessary documentation to initiate the petition
Legal expert Veselin Radovic from Leposavic states that Minister of Administration and Local Self-Government of Kosovo, Elbert Krasniqi's statement about citizen groups in the north having two more weeks to submit signatures for the dismissal of mayors in northern municipalities is not accurate, because they have not received complete documentation from the ministry required for the entire process.
Krasniqi stated today that North Mitrovica, Leposavic, and Zubin Potok had two more weeks to collect signatures for the removal of Albanian mayors, while in Zvecan, this deadline was extended by five days.
Radovic told Kosovo Online they had not been informed that they had been registered as a group responsible for collecting signatures.
"Today, I met with the president of the Assembly and suggested to him that, according to the article and instructions, he must inform us that we are registered as a group, and with further registration, we are authorized to take any other step. However, we have not received anything from him, nor do we have any authorization or information that we are registered as a citizen group," he said.
Radovic added that they had not received an official notification, and the authorities were violating the instructions they themselves had issued.
"In a certain article, it says that we start collecting signatures when we receive the complete documentation. We haven't received anything, just some list, and there hasn't been any handover as proof that I took it. I was only given some paper, and on that list, there are initiators with the names of three of us, and it does not state that the initiating group is authorized to do such a thing. There is no explanation. In my interpretation, they are violating their own instructions that they have issued themselves," Radovic added.
