The president of the Serb List, Goran Rakic, said at a press conference in the Government of Serbia that the Serbs would gather and protest if Milan Bozovic, who was accused of setting fire to a car and shooting at the Kosovo police, was not released.

"I would like that I came here today to talk about the CSM and how it was formed and that the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija feel safer and more secure. Unfortunately, Pristina's latest moves have only brought great indignation, revolt, and dissatisfaction of the Serbs," Rakic said.

Rakic emphasized that the dissatisfaction had particularly been caused by the arrest of Milovan Bozovic, whom Pristina accused of setting fire to a car and of shooting at the Kosovo police.

"You are witnessing that every day the Serbs face threats from institutions and the police that they will confiscate not only license plates but also vehicles, i.e. private property, to which they have absolutely no right," Rakic said.

There have been dozens of attacks on the Serbs and Serbian property, Rakic says, adding that none of those attacks have been punished.

He also notes that the act of the KSF member who shot at the Serbian children was overqualified and that now the one who committed it is charged only with causing general danger.

"The lives of the Serbs in Kosovo are devalued on the one hand, while on the other they are given the most severe punishments for crimes they did not commit. If the repression continues and if the arrested Milan Bozovic is not released, we will call on the people for general resistance and uprising, because we cannot tolerate Albin Kurti and his institutions," Rakic said.

He also appealed to the international community to respond to Pristina's actions and protect the Serbs in Kosovo, in order to preserve the peace that, as he stated, everyone desperately needed.
