Rakocevic: Porfirije discriminated against as a believer and citizen, in Kosovo there is only room for arbitrariness
Zivojin Rakocevic, a writer from Gracanica and the president of UNS, emphasized in response to the decision by the Kosovo authorities to ban Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church from entering Kosovo, that a messenger of peace and love has been stopped, and the message from the officials in Kosovo is clear - there is no room for negotiation.
Rakocevic pointed out that basic human and civil virtues have today been halted at the administrative crossing. He stressed that the doors have been closed today to a man who was conveying a message of peace.
"The messenger of peace, love, and good hope has been stopped. Nowhere in his life has Patriarch Porfirije ever gone without these virtues. Basic human, civil virtues, and the measure of them today have been stopped at the crossings to Kosovo and Metohija. The misery into which this system has fallen today has reached its peak, and it has closed the doors to a man who carried this message of peace everywhere, around the world. Patriarch Porfirije has been discriminated against as a patriarch, as a believer, and as a citizen. In all these aspects, he cannot enter where the basic sanctities of his people, his church, and his mission are," said Rakocevic.
According to Rakocevic, the ban on freedom of movement cannot prohibit the mission of the Serbian Patriarch.
"Anyone who thinks that by banning freedom of movement they can stop the mission of the Patriarch, his love and good intentions is mistaken, because he comes to the holy land where the most important things that he holds in his heart, his ID card, and his spiritual biography are located. These elements cannot be stopped by any arrogant, evil actions of a system that does not know what it wants from itself and which, at a time when everyone needs a man of love, says: this man of love, a man of peace and good intentions, has no place in the space that we have enclosed with evil," Rakocevic said.
The message from the Kosovo authorities is clear, Rakocevic stated, adding that in Kosovo there is only room for arbitrariness.
"There are no laws, rules, agreements, not a single sign of goodwill to even question what is most sacred for the area of Kosovo and Metohija, what is most sacred for Serbs wherever they live in the world. Why send a foreign message to all of us and how is it possible that after everything, you can think about peace, coexistence, survival of what humanity has recognized as untouchable values that must be preserved for all," Rakocevic asked.
