Rodic: Insincere concern from the US and EU; nothing could happen in Kosovo without their blessing

Reactions from the United States and the European Union, expressing concern over Pristina's actions with a direct and negative impact on the Serbs in Kosovo, are seen by journalist Filip Rodic as forced and insincere because according to him, nothing could happen in Kosovo without the blessing of the US and EU.

"I don't believe they are genuinely concerned about anything happening in Kosovo because I truly think that nothing in Kosovo and Metohija could happen without their blessing. The situation is such that they have to react because it has reached a new level. The situation for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija is completely unbearable, and that is clear to anyone who truly wants to see and hear, so they have to react," Rodic said for Kosovo Online.

If they are already so concerned, he says, they should move from words to actions and do something about it, instead of leaving the Serbs in the lurch, as they have always done before.

What they should stop are all these ideas from Albin Kurti and others because, as Rodic says, whoever is in power in Pristina, the situation would be similar.

Considering these reactions as insincere, Rodic also says he doesn't expect anything from them.

According to him, there is a long history of disrespect and non-implementation of agreements.

"It is not only about the Brussels Agreement from 2013 or 2015; practically, all the agreements we have signed with them since 1990, and 1991, none of them have been respected. They implement only what suits them and do not adhere to what was promised. So, really, unless they take serious action, I don't expect anything from the US and the EU," he notes.

In that sense, he points out that there is an informal agreement on NATO non-expansion to the east, which eventually led to the war in Ukraine.

He emphasizes that only if Donald Trump wins the elections in the US can some change be expected because, as he explains, Trump showed in his previous term that he wants to confront the "American deep state" and might have the strength to push it through.

"With the current government in America and the European bureaucracy as it is, I really don't expect anything," Rodic repeats.

During the actions of the Kosovo Police yesterday, dinars were confiscated, and when asked if this meant that the Central Bank of Kosovo's regulation had come into effect without the announced delay, Rodic says that this is precisely where he comes back to what he consistently repeats – moving from words to actions.

"Here we see in action that their words are not worth the paper they are written on. This, apparently, represents the implementation of their intentions," Rodic says.
