Rudolph congratulates Kurti on forming the Government: I hope you will focus on continuing the dialogue with Serbia

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti received congratulations from the German Embassy and from the prime ministers of North Macedonia and Montenegro on his new mandate and the formation of the Kosovo government. Congratulating Kurti, German Ambassador Rainer Rudolph said that the EU-led dialogue on normalizing relations with Serbia remains of key importance for the long-term stability of the Western Balkans.

“Therefore, I hope that you and your government will commit to resuming it as soon as possible and work toward achieving practical, mutually respectful and sustainable solutions, because progress in this regard will be important for further advancing Kosovo's European perspective,” the German ambassador said in a letter published by the Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo.

Rudolph also said that Germany and Kosovo are connected by close and longstanding ties.

“Germany highly values Kosovo as an important partner in the Western Balkans and remains committed to supporting stability, reforms and the European future of the region. You and your government have important tasks ahead of you. For Germany, Kosovo's commitment to integration into the European Union is a pillar of our cooperation. German policy toward the Western Balkans remains focused on the enlargement of the European Union,” Rudolph said.

Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic congratulated Kurti on his re-election and the formation of the Kosovo government and expressed his conviction that Kosovo would make progress toward Europe under his leadership.

“Montenegro and Kosovo maintain good and friendly relations, and I am convinced that in the period ahead we will continue to further strengthen them by intensifying regional cooperation, European integration and economic connectivity. I am convinced that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, under your leadership, will make a particular contribution in this regard, as well as take decisive steps toward further progress on the path to integration and the achievement of strategic European goals,” Spajic said.

North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski wished Kurti a successful mandate and congratulated him on Kosovo's success.

“I am convinced that in the period ahead we will continue building even more productive relations between our two countries through open political dialogue and concrete forms of cooperation. Our shared interests in the areas of the economy, infrastructure connectivity, security and regional cooperation offer significant opportunities for further strengthening the partnership between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Kosovo,” Mickoski said.
