Savic: We've had enough of Kurti's terror

The head of the service for health promotion and scientific research at the Clinical Hospital Center in North Mitrovica, Gordana Savic, said from today's meeting in North Mitrovica that the women gathered to say that Kurti's terror must stop.

"We will no longer suffer Kurti's terror. Is it humane when they threaten to arrest our doctors? And why, because they wanted to carry out vaccinations against covid in our region in order to save as many lives as possible. They wanted to arrest them. Is it humane? No, there is nothing humane about it. They stopped our ambulances, arrested ambulance drivers, took away our medicines, medical supplies, prevented the supply of medicines and medical supplies and thus made it difficult for us to fight for every human life. Is it humane in the 21st century in the civilized world? Well, my sisters, it's not humane, we can teach them lessons about humanity, we who work every day, honorably, dignified and humanely do our job where regardless of religion and nationality we provide adequate health care every day. That is my humanity, my sisters, that is my Serbian humanity, and they will never learn that lesson," said Savic.

According to her, all the women who gathered today in large numbers have one goal, which is to provide their children with peace, freedom and a carefree childhood, so that they can live like all other children in the world.

"Unfortunately, they were denied that. Our mothers gave birth under the sound of sirens, our children wake up and go to school with the sound of sirens and the echoes of shock bombs, they are intercepted from home to school by armed special forces, they instill fear in our children and us , and our children look to us, we are the ones who must instill hope in them and fight for peace and freedom. I know that the goal of all of us is a better future for our children and for all of us," Savic said.

She called on KFOR, UNMIK, EULEX and Quint ambassadors to help and do something and told them that the children of the women, who have gathered today, were not different from their children and that their voices must be heard.

"I greet all brothers and sisters south of the Ibar River. Today we are not divided into those south of the Ibar and north of the Ibar. Today we are all the same, citizens of Kosovo and Metohija, citizens of the Republic of Serbia. Long live Serbia," concluded Savic. 

Teacher Svetlana Radosavljevic said that the women who gathered today at the meeting in North Mitrovica won because they decided to say that Kurti's terror is enough.

"We won today because we got together, because we decided to say to Kurti - enough is enough, we will not be silent anymore, we want to say - we are here, we will stay here, this is where our children will grow up," says Radosavljevic and states that this day will be remembered as the day when women stood up and said "enough" to Kurti.

Radosavljevic stated that it was the last hour for women to stand up on International Humanity Day and tell the world, America and Christian Europe that they are fed up with ghettos and prisons and that they are fed up with lack of freedom for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.

She said that it was very bad that Albin Kurti turned on the stopwatch. It does not suit him when it is said that something should be postponed for a year, but he measures everything in hours, which, she says, is a shame.

Radosavljevic spoke about the difficult living conditions in a situation where children in Kosovo pass by an armed man with riffles guarding the parks.

"Our request would also open the sky, it would open all the doors we need to knock on. We know that our president is knocking everywhere and on all doors and asking for peace for this area, but today we are here, today you are here, today our children are here, they will stay and will be here, they will grow here, they will live in freedom only if we are united, if we stand next to each other like today and if we pray like this, we pray for peace and we pray for an end to all torture," Radosavljevic said.

As she stated, she has been a teacher for 35 years and knows what children drew then, and that today they draw guns and everything that hurts them, and that they are worried.

The student of the Faculty of Philosophy, Jovana Smigic, told the international community and students in Europe and the whole world that everyone had the right to education, and that students in Kosovo were forced to fight for basic human rights.

Smigic said that it was difficult to go to lectures in fear, to study with sirens and classes being interrupted by ROSU.

"Do we not have the right to education? We are students who want peace. This is a university town, we are only looking for education for us and all the children who will grow up and stay here," Smigic ephasized.
