Serb List rejects Tomanic's accusations: Another lie by Kurti's followers

The Serb List today rejected the accusations of the deputy mayor of Zvecan, Natasa Tomanic, that they were responsible for the fire that had broken out in her boutique in Zvecan, emphasizing that it was "another insinuation and false accusation by Kurti's followers."

"We strongly condemn the insinuations and false accusations by Kurti's follower Natasa Tomanic against the Serb List regarding the fire in her boutique in Zvecan. Considering recent events in other municipalities in northern Kosovo and Metohija, such as the municipality of Leposavic, where Kurti's followers from the ranks of the Serbian people indulged and used drugs during working hours, we express suspicion that the possible motive is a criminal reckoning of these unfortunate individuals who, with no community standing, are appointed to listen to false and illegal mayors and accuse the Serb List on Kurti's behalf," the statement reads.

The mere announcement that they will build an even larger facility there with "people from the south" sends a message that the fire may be a prelude to using funds from Pristina to build a larger, unpermitted facility for who knows what purpose, while politically smearing the Serb List and "playing into the hands" of Albin Kurti, they add.

The Serb List points out that it is interesting that Natasa Tomanic, "like her boss," Albin Kurti, knows the cause of the fire before any investigation and results from expert services. Furthermore, they add, Kurti and Tomanic insinuate that they know who committed this act.

"At a time when we are fighting to preserve the Serbian people and when the pressure from the international community on the regime in Pristina is greater than ever, we have repeatedly called for peace, aware that such events do not serve our people well. However, it is a fact that they serve Kurti to divert public attention from the pressure he is under and to justify the presence of occupying forces in Serbian communities in northern Kosovo and Metohija," the Serb List concludes.
