The Serb List: The verdict against Todosijevic is proof that the Serbs in Kosovo live under apartheid

The Serb List announced that the decision of the Court of Appeal in Pristina sentencing Ivan Todosijevic to one year in prison for his publicly stated position was shameful, illegal, and anti-Serb and that it was evidence that showed the conditions, close to apartheid, in which the Serbs lived in Kosovo and Metohija, under the leadership of the Albin Kurti regime.

"While the international community is silent, Pristina in the 21st century is introducing a verbal offense, of course against a Serb - because he is a Serb. Of course, for the thousands of heinous insults and threats that the Serbs in these areas hear every day, both on the street, from the media and public institutions, and from the leaders of Kosovo institutions who declare the Serbs to be criminals, murderers, rapists, genocidal people, there are no court proceedings or convictions because attacking Serbs is apparently allowed in Kosovo and Metohija," the statement says.

They add that Todosijevic's legal team did their job more than professionally to prove that freedom of speech and opinion is guaranteed to everyone, including him, but that this is clearly a political process in which law and justice have no chance of winning.

"The very fact that the verdict was published in the media, but was not delivered to the lawyers or to Mr. Todosijevic, shows that this is a verdict aimed at intimidating the Serbs and sending a message to everyone to keep quiet and suffer," The Serb List says.

They require the international community, primarily the European Union, the embassies of the Quint countries, OSCE, EULEX, and UNMIK to react as soon as possible and point out the violation of the rights of the Serbs and Ivan Todosijevic.

"It is their duty to ensure respect for the human rights of all citizens, including respect for the rule of law, and their responsibility is even greater to react and stop this politically motivated lynching to which our friend and colleague, Ivan Todosijevic was exposed," the announcement stated.
