If the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague acquit the four former KLA leaders, it would be a major advantage for the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), while a conviction would benefit Self-Determination leader Albin Kurti, political analyst Nexhmedin Spahiu says.

"Everyone has expectations regarding the verdict. It will certainly affect the dynamics of political life in Kosovo. If the verdict is an acquittal, then prolonging the process of forming the institutions would suit the Democratic Party of Kosovo. If a conviction is handed down, it would benefit Albin Kurti," Spahiu told Kosovo Online.

He also pointed out that it is not easy to deliver a verdict in this case, given the vast scope of the proceedings, the large number of witness testimonies, and the extensive documentation.

"After all, the most serious judges, prosecutors, and lawyers work at The Hague Tribunal. They do not operate like our courts, issuing decisions based solely on their own discretion, but instead base their judgments on documents and witness testimony. Processing all of that takes time," Spahiu concluded.

According to the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, the verdict in the case against the four former KLA leaders, Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi, will be delivered on September 16 instead of July 20.
