Stankovic: Repressive policy of Pristina authorities toward our education system in Kosovo is unacceptable

Serbian Minister of Education, Professor Dr. Dejan Vuk Stankovic, strongly condemned the actions of the authorities in Pristina and the detention imposed on directors of Serbian educational and healthcare institutions, assessing it as an unacceptable repressive policy directed against the Serbian education system.

“The repressive policy of the authorities in Pristina and Albin Kurti toward our education system in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the detention of directors of Serbian schools, is unacceptable and represents yet another form of intimidation against the Serbian population and Serbian institutions. Despite this, the system continues to function and classes are being conducted in accordance with the curriculum of the Republic of Serbia,” Minister Stankovic stated.

He emphasized that the State of Serbia continues to care for every one of its citizens in every part of its territory.

“No fabricated proceedings or political campaigns by the authorities in Pristina directed against Serbian institutions and the Serbian people will either frighten or intimidate us. Preserving educational institutions in Kosovo and Metohija remains our common goal and obligation, as does ensuring the survival, continued presence, and normal life of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija,” Minister Stankovic stressed.

The Basic Court in Pristina today ordered detention of up to one month for seven Serbs, directors of healthcare and educational institutions in Gracanica, suspected of the criminal offense of “violating the free will of voters.”
