Starovic: Roma in Kosovo face perecution, their suffering remains invisible

Serbia’s Minister for European Integration, Nemanja Starovic, warned that Roma in Kosovo continue to face persecution and mass displacement, alongside the Serbian community, and that their suffering remains invisible.

“Roma in Kosovo are experiencing a continuous exodus and persecution along with the Serbs. Decades after the war, between 120,000 and 150,000 Roma have left Kosovo, and very few have returned,” Starovic stated in a post on the social network X.

He emphasized that justice has still not been served for the crimes committed against this community, and that there is no reliable data on the number of victims. 

“Their suffering continues—unseen and unheard,” Starovic said.
